The time commitment required to be part of the Medic Mentor Teacher Advisory Group is flexible and designed to fit around your existing commitments. We understand that educators have busy schedules and that your time is valuable. The virtual group meetings take place once a month and typically last around 1 hour. During these meetings, members of the group are asked to review specific programs and provide feedback and recommendations for new ones. There are several serious issues that a currently affecting the NHS which directly relates to the work that we do with aspiring students. These include addressing the doctor shortage, promoting diversity and inclusivity, improving patient outcomes and supporting innovation and progress.
Many organisations focus on training and recruiting doctors, but also forget that doctors were once medical students, and before that they were aspiring students, just like you. Education, training and high-quality wellbeing support should not start when you graduate – you should have access to this now, from the beginning of your journey as an applying student.
