Clearing is the process through which universities and colleges, including medical schools, fill any remaining vacancies on their courses. From 5 July to 21 October 2025, prospective students can utilise Clearing to apply for courses if they have not yet secured an offer from a university or college, and if the course still has available spots.
2025 Medical UCAS applicants can take advantage of Clearing if:
They are submitting their application after 30 June.
They did not receive any offers, or none that they wished to accept.
They did not meet the conditions of their offers.
They have declined their firm place using the ‘decline my place’ option in their UCAS application.
