Book Club

APPLYING STUDENTS

welcome to medic mentor book club

Founded by our very own Dr Emily Poynton-Smith, a Medic Mentor Vice President, book club has become one of Medic Mentor’s most popular opportunities to become involved in. Today book club has 650+ members!

We have created a list of recommended reading material below for current/aspiring medical students. Each book will have its turn on our monthly reading list, at which point it will link to its own blog post where it can be discussed in more detail – please let us know what you think of any books you’ve read or are currently reading.

For more information on the book club, please feel free to email:

Time to get reading!

We’re also running regular meetings via Zoom: October’s meetings  include a discussion on ‘Better’ by Atul Gawande, along with our monthly teaching session and debate (topic linked to themes of this months book).

Joining book club isn’t just about the reading, its a brilliant way to associate with like minded students and learn how to apply your wider reading to further assist you in your UCAS application process.

upcoming meetings

We will be running 6-monthly applications to join the committee (last applications closed on 4th July). Use the button to learn more about the current committee.

Latest readings

Have a say in the next book by attending the discussion at the start of each month!
